Gilbert Mercado MBA, EA, MRFC, CFS, CES, CSA, CBC is President of Money Concepts Financial Planning Centre in Del Rio and Lubbock, Texas, and CEO of Money Link Financial Services Inc. His firms provide quality and professional assistance in retirement planning, financial planning, investment services, life insurance, tax planning and preparation, bookkeeping and payroll services to individuals and businesses. He is also the Regional Director for Money Concepts’ Eagles Region and is responsible for actively recruiting and mentoring financial advisors throughout the country.

In addition to his independent offices, Gilbert provides financial planning and investment services at Border Federal Credit Union throughout Del Rio, Eagle Pass, Crystal City and Laughlin Air Force Base, TX. He is an active member of the Del Rio Chamber of Commerce and the Del Rio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as well as an active member of the community having served in various positions in local civic organizations including, President of the Del Rio Rotary Club in 2005 and President of the Val Verde County Child Welfare Board in 2003. He is currently President of the San Antonio Chapter of the Texas Society of Enrolled Agents (TXSEA) and a Director for TXSEA.

Gilbert holds various licenses including a Series 6, 7, 63, 65, 22 and the Texas Life, Accident and Health Insurancelicense. He is an Investment Advisor Representative and has earned the Master Registered Financial Consultant (MRFC), Certified Fund Specialist (CFS), Certified Estate and Trust Specialist (CES), Certified Senior Advisor (CSA), and Chartered Benefit Consultant (CBC) designations and continues to seek additional knowledge in varying areas of the financial industry. He has also earned the Enrolled Agent (EA) designation and is licensed to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service in matters including audits, collections and appeals. He also earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Western Governors University.

Gilbert has also been named to the prestigious Money Concepts Millionaires Club in 2008 and 2009, 2010, the Century Club in 2011, 2013 and 2015, the Professionals Clubs in 2012, 2014 and 2016 and the Eagles Club in 2017. He was also named the Hispanic Chamber of Del Rio 2012 Businessman of the Year and in 2017 his firm was named Small Business of the Year. In 2018, Gilbert was named to the Money Concepts Apex Club and was also awarded the 2019 Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce Businessman of the Year. In addition, he is routinely requested to speak regarding financial matters at local, national and international events and organizations. Gilbert also serves as a subject matter expert and standards setting participant for the MRFC credential through the International Association for Registered Financial Consultants.

Gilbert, his beautiful wife Irmarie and their four children reside in Del Rio, TX. He enjoys traveling, furthering his education, reading and spending time with his family.
